70 Scholars Empowered in Tampa Bay

Tampa-based nonprofit Think Big For Kids, led by local tech visionary Tony DiBenedetto, has recently awarded 70 scholarships for the 2023-24 academic year, marking a significant increase from previous years.

In collaboration with the Boys and Girls Club of Tampa Bay, Think Big For Kids is committed to providing educational opportunities for the youth in the community.

These scholarships cover a wide range of fields, including two- and four-year college degrees, trade schools, and apprenticeships, aiming to bolster the local workforce. Notably, students from 33 Tampa Bay area high schools have been selected for these prestigious awards.

Amy Alley, Executive Director of Think Big for Kids, expressed her excitement, stating, “Scholarship season is the high point of our year. We celebrate the achievements of these incredible graduates, many of whom will be first-generation college students. Despite facing numerous challenges, they have persevered and excelled.”

The scholarships span various disciplines, from business and entrepreneurship to law enforcement, general studies, and technical trades. Moreover, Think Big For Kids collaborates with local companies to offer volunteer services, field trips, mentorships, and internships to further support the recipients.

In addition to this significant initiative, DiBenedetto recently made a generous donation of $1 million to his alma mater, Florida State University.
